About the Role:
The Learning Tree in Wilmington, NC is looking for a passionate and nurturing Co-Lead Teacher to join our Older Ones classroom! This is a wonderful opportunity to make a lasting impact on young learners in a collaborative, supportive teaching environment where your dedication to early childhood education truly shines.
Responsibilities:
- Co-lead daily classroom instruction and activities tailored to the developmental needs of older ones children
- Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for all children
- Collaborate closely with your co-teacher to ensure consistent classroom management and routines
- Observe, document, and communicate children's developmental progress to families
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom space
Requirements:
- Experience in early childhood education or a related childcare setting
- Degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field preferred
- Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP)
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with young children
- Must meet NC childcare licensing requirements, including background check
- Current or ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
